Whale Watching -
What Else You Might See

We can usually find one or more of our resident J, K and L pods. (Pods are family groups). There are almost always some Harbor Seal about, and usually River Otter, Wild Mink, Dall's Porpoise, Harbor Porpoise and occasionally transient Orca Whales, Minke Whales, Gray Whales, Sea Lion, Pacific White Sided Dolphin.

Birds
On any given trip, you will most likely see Double-crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Brandts Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Black Oystercatcher, Glaucous-winged Gull, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemot, Rhinoceros Auklet and Belted Kingfisher.

Here is an EXTENSIVE list of birds inhabiting and migrating through the San Juan Islands.
