These whales are focused on finding the Pacific runs of salmon that traditionally come into Haro Strait, (located to the west of San Juan Island), mid-April to September. Our sighting rates are over 90%. We guarantee that you will see marine mammals and take home life-long memories.
We also see soaring eagles, playful seals, impressive sea lions and rafts of seabirds from our boats and kayaks.

We are known for keeping groups small, and for our staff- who give our guests a great deal of personalized attention, for strictly adhering to the 'whale watching guidlines' and for respectful wildlife view ethics.

The San Juan Islands boast of sunny, warm days because we are in what is known as the "rain shadow", sometimes called the 'banana belt'. It can be raining in Seattle ( up to 36 inches of rain annually), and most likely it is sunny here. The San Juan's receive about 18" - 20" of rain annualy. Usually summer days here in the San Juan's are in the low 70's. Bring a jacket because it is always a bit cooler on the water. This mild climate makes it great for outdoor activities both on and off the water.

San Juan Island also offers plenty of hiking, biking, shopping, galleries, mopeding, history, museums, a vineyard, a lavendar farm, an alpaca farm, a farmers market and many fine restaurants. Consider spending at least a couple of days. San Juan Island has over 50 lodging facilities. And that is just on this island alone. Then you may also wish to spend a day on Lopez Island and another on Orcas Island. We can assist you with lodging selections.

Hi guys, I took my high school biology class out with you a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The kids couldn't say enough about the trip--the boat, the naturalists, and mostly the whales were really great. Thanks! I wasn't sure where to send photos for your contest (this is the only email that I found on the website) so I've attached them here. I had never seen breaching before (this is probably my sixth or seventh trip), so when they did it over and over, I was amazed. I hope it's OK to send fairly large photos. If you want the whole series, I have six or seven in a row of a couple of different breaches. Here are the photos, and thanks again for a great trip. We'll definitely use you guys again!
